“Mammals of Central America” compiles more than 350 electronic publications that contain information on the mammal species found in the isthmus.
Their purpose is to provide a reference source on the web for Central Americans, by offering a region-wide view of these species.
They include information on:
- Taxonomy of species
- Common name by country
- Natural history (feeding habits, behavior, reproduction and habitat)
- Distribution by country
- Conservation status according to CITES and IUCN
- Importance for humankind.
In general, images such as full color illustrations and/or photographs are incorporated.
