Tips on usage Atras Inicio

There are 3 ways to access the information:

1) By common name or by species categories:
By clicking on the icon for each group of animals –for example “Rabbits”--, you will find a list of the general classification categories.
Once you enter a specific category –for example, in the case of “Rabbits”, Leporiade- common names for the most widely known species will appear.
It is important to note that common names of mammals vary depending on the country and the region. Also, not all species possess a common name. Therefore, if you cannot find the species you are interested in, we recommend that you attempt another type of search.

2) Basic search:
This type of access allows you to find the species of interest using a larger number of options, such as the common name, the scientific name, family, synonym, author, etc. Similarly, it is possible to do a combined search using the above-mentioned information, for example: “all species of rabbits that are found in Nicaragua”. The system will generate a list of species that comply with those options.

3) Advanced search:
You can use this option by first accessing the basic search. Here you will find all the information components that have been defined. This allows users to make queries of a more technical and detailed nature, also using the combined search.
